Dangers Of Drug Abuse

There are majorly two types of dangers in regards to the drugs. They are the risk of getting addicted to it and the other is the adverse health and behavioral consequences. They both have their own differences from one another. There is always an illegal drug which always has a serious adverse consequence. Drug addiction can develop through either mental or physical processes.

Psychological or mental dependence is described by emotional and mental obsession with the drug's pleasing effects. One craves more to recuperate the stimulation, euphoria, sense of well-being, or other psychological pleasures from the drug. Psychological addiction also happens when one expands a lifestyle that depends upon drug use. Physical dependence occurs when the body regulates to the presence of a drug, so that physical symptoms usually involving discomfort and pain occur when the drug is inhibited.

Drug abuse is just that, abusing drug. It does not matter if they are illegal or a prescription, it is a drug and they are not being managed properly. Users do not wear a sign that says that they are a drug addict, but they all show signs; some are easily noticed, while others are harder. When a person suffers mood swings, or it appears they lost a lot of weight; it is very likely he is sick, or abusing either drugs or alcohol.

Today teenagers are more informed about illegal drug abuse, and most are not researched upon, studies state that most kids find drugs to be a turn off. Marijuana was and is still accepted by 1970 and 80's generation; and the children of these adult users, are more likely to experiment.

Cocaine was and still is a drug of option for the rich, and now society has found a way to distribute it, more potent and less expensive. That drug is called crack and it is killing teenagers and youth adults alike, it is highly additive and very fatal. The strength draws the potential user in, and because it is not very expensive, it is easier to obtain. Most are looking for that very first high that they “achieved' using this powerful form of cocaine, called crack.

There is a drug that has recently gained popularity but this drug has been around since the late 50's and 60's. Medically it is called methamphetamine, but on the street it can be called many things, a few of the street names are Uppers, Speed, black beauties as they use to be called, but now the new names are ice or glass. Symptoms of a drug overdose can be fast or irregular breathing or panting, or, an abnormal heartbeat. Usually the user becomes confused and aggressive, usually because they are in a state of panic or are suspicious. Physically signs can be either vomiting or diarrhea.



This drug affects not only our brain, as well as our other vital organs. It affects our heart by causing our heart to pump much faster that it is capable of pumping. Over time it will destroy our liver and kidneys, since these are the filters for the human waste, urinating and have bowel moments. The affects can cause long-term brain damage, as well as put the person in a state of coma; the worse could be a stroke, where we are partially paralyzed.
