Free Std Test

Sexually transmitted diseases or STD's are very common in today's world; in fact the statistics get higher and higher every year. There are number of various STD's out there that have no symptoms or the symptoms are very mild so people do not even notice. This is one of the main causes for the steady rise in these diseases over the years.

Normally Before getting into any unsafe activity everyone involved should be tested for STD's and viruses before hand. Even though there are no symptoms a person or his or her partner may still be carrying a STD which is why this is so important yet often overlooked. There is a comprehensive up to date list of all the free or low income health care clinics across the United States organized by state. Many of theses medical clinics offer free testing for sexually transmitted diseases to help curb the on going rise of them, while the others charge people based on their income. These clinics also give out thousands of condoms for free in all shapes and sizes.

Although they understand that most individuals may want to be examined and if necessary treated by their primary care provider, the Health Department does provide free and confidential STD clinics to the public. The locations of the clinic, phone numbers, and hours of operation, as well as what people can expect during a visit to one of our clinics, follows. Upon arriving at the health care or free testing Clinic, people will be asked to fill out a form with information about him or her self and their reasons for coming to the clinic. The medical records and reports remain confidential, meaning no one has access to them except authorized Health Department personnel. On this form, a number will be written. To ensure the confidentiality, people will be called by that number throughout the clinic visit.

During the registration people will be called and seen by clinicians. Their medical staff is made up of specialized doctors who have been practicing the specialty of diagnosing and treating STDs for some time. People need to be accurate and detailed when providing their information, so that they can provide them with the best medical and counseling services, when discussing their medical history with the clinician. During the free tests or medical examination, a clinician will take specimens, some of which will be tested at our on-site lab. A microbiologist normally performs the lab tests and shares the results with the doctor. If pointed out by those results, people will receive medication before they depart the clinic. Some specimens of the patients though may be sent to an outside lab for testing. The free clinic staff will let people know how and when to get those results so they can come in for additional treatment and follow-up if required.

Counseling for HIV and Rapid HIV Testing is also offered at the clinic. People have the option to test their diseases confidentially or anonymously. The results of confidential STD testing are given to the patient in writing which would be necessary for follow-up medical care. Anonymous STD testing results are not linked to a person's name but a patient does have the option of converting his or her results to a confidential status if desired.
