Some familiar signs of STD could be excretions from the vagina or the urethra that are highly unusual, itching, no matter how intense or moderate, sensation of pain during sexual intercourse, sensation of pain during urination.
Other symptoms could be sores that are open on body parts that have come in contact with our sexual partner's genital area. We should be more careful if the bumps have fluids or pus in them and if they are painful.
Weird smells emanating from the body, especially from the excretions, sudden appearance of warts or swelling in or on the genitals, mites or other parasites that may be infesting the genital area are other signs STD. Usual symptoms of illness such as a rise in body temperature, a feeling of weakness, migraine or headache, or giddiness and a need to throw up are also symptoms of this disease.
Pain experienced in the abdominal area, more particularly in the lower portion of the abdominal area, off-cycle menstruation, or a delay in the arrival of the menstruation, an increase in the frequency of voiding or urination, unusual change in the color of the skin, or sudden appearance of bruises, loss of hair in several areas of the head are also associated with STD.
These are typically the primary signs of an STD. These indications are not just symptoms for STDs. Those who are sexually active must take note that if they have any of these symptoms then they need to get themselves properly and immediately checked by a healthcare representative who will be able to verify any possible infections. Some indications may even take days or weeks before they start to show from the time that they have made contact with the original transporter of the disease.
If one has identified himself or herself as having one or more of the first signs of an STD, it would be advisable for this person to cease any further sexual activities from that point onwards, in order to avoid transmitting whatever disease he or she may be carrying. Also, another precautionary measure to take is to contact previous partners (if there are more than one), and inform them that he or she has contracted the disease.
It would also be a very good suggestion to recommend them to have themselves checked as well, to avoid additional spread of whatever sexually transmitted disease they might be carrying. The best bet for sexually active people is to have themselves checked regularly, even before seeing signs of an STD, as an action for future anticipation.
