How To Avail Health Care At Home

‘Health is wealth'. This one saying has become the prophecy that came true to the last letter. The cost of health over the years has gone dramatically up. Health care, medication and treatments are highly priced. In addition, gone are the days when a single ailment was all any individual ever worried about. Now people deal with multiple health problems and health risks. For starters, recent research has narrowed down that a major health risk to about two thirds of the population in the developed world is suffering from obesity. What's more alarming is the fact that every health risk ranging from heart conditions to diabetes to certain kinds of cancer, all find their roots in obesity one way or the other.

What this research points out is that before facing expensive health bills, we all have an opportunity to nip the evil in the bud. There are a lot of preventive measures that can be taken to avoid this condition. Further, age related problems like arthritis can also be minimized by taking care of yourself while still in you younger years. And for all this, you need to follow some simple wholesome guidelines that have been recommended by health experts for decades.

1. Avoid Saturated Fats: no matter your age group, you need to know that eating saturated fats can be a threat to your heart. Saturated fats raise your LDL or ‘bad cholesterol' levels. These are found in vegetables oils, and animal fat. Not only do saturated fats increase heart risk, they contribute directly to your waistline. The healthy way to deal with fats is to focus on unsaturated fats. These are found in Olive oil, Avocado oil and fish oil as well. They don't add to your cholesterol and wisely taken, will not adversely affect your weight either.

2. Complex Carbohydrates: eating complex carbohydrates is better than eating the simple, processed ones. The reason is that simple carbohydrates are easily digested by the body and release energy, which is then stored in the body as fat. Complex carbohydrates, such as those found in brown sugar, brown rice, wholegrain cereals, whole wheat, etc, take longer to break down, burn more calories in the process and you feel less hungry.

3. Drink Lots of Water: the more water you drink, the better health you will have. It's as simple as that. The human body needs water more than any plant you can think of. We need water to remove toxins from our body, to regulate our body temperature, to get the best nutrients out of our food, to have a ready flow of blood to our organs, etc. A dehydrated body becomes the breeding ground for various diseases and the immune system itself becomes worse off. The long and short of it is that, if you're not taking at least 8 glasses of water a day, your setting yourself up for health problems of a tall order.

4. Exercise: it may feel like a human right to live luxuriously and never lift a finger, but this is detrimental to your health. For a healthy life you should have at least a 30 minute calorie burning activity on a daily basis.
