Most parents and school teachers would notice a change in the group, switching friends and hanging around other people.
Also the new group may not be the kind of people, with whom your child could be friendly and they are very different than their old friends. Teens who are into drug abuse would also reflect a change in the ability level of their performance and usually parents would witness a drop in the grades of such students. In most cases the grades drop drastically and there is major change in regular grades and performance level.
Some of the other features that change for students and teens into drug abuse include alterations in behavior along with mood swings. These teens would be displaying emotional swings and these would be very high one day and low the next day and thus the child could be aggressive or very quite. Such teens, who are into drugs, would also start to withdraw and isolate themselves and would prefer being alone and avoid communication with their family members and friends.
Thus you should try and understand these factors to save your teens from drug abuse and other illegal avenues.
