Aerobic Capacity Test

There are various kinds of tests available today for trying to analyze and assess the health and fitness potential of a person and the aerobic test is one of the best methods for doing the same. It has been seen that aerobic exercise are one of the best forms of exercises for judging the capacity of an individual and understanding the stamina of the person. These include the anaerobic and the aerobic capacity tests, which help the individual to understand the amount of exercise that their body is capable of performing and also the exercise which the body is presently doing.

The Anaerobic capacity of the body can be judged through the fact sheets which also cover the physiology in greater detail and this is also similar to the Aerobic power or capacity with the only difference being in their meaning as aerobic basically means with oxygen and anaerobic means without oxygen. The anaerobic power of the body is the power produced without the requirement for oxygen to be present. Hence the sprinting, which a person experiences at the end of a race, is predominantly an anaerobic activity.

But the exercises which are done over a longer period of time with exercising on the body using oxygen and using the power at these intensities so that the person can exercise for a longer time. The energy systems and pathways used to create the power that propels the body include high energy outputs. In anaerobic exercise attacking, jumping gaps and other power dominated areas helps to determine the power house of the body and hence understand the capacity of the body. These are powered by the ATP-PC energy systems, which are also called the Adenosine Triphosphate.

This is sustainable for one to four seconds and the PC system or the Phosphate Creatine, helps to create the anaerobic activity from four seconds until exhaustion. Hence this enables the possibly for the athletes to increase their capacity up to twenty seconds. The capacity of the anaerobic exercise performers is very different from those who perform the aerobic forms of exercises. But for increasing the aerobic capacity of the body it is essential for the person to breathe the right way.

Since the body uses oxygen in doing any form of aerobic exercise, the use of air in the right manner is essential. For example, jogging is a form of aerobic exercise where the pace of running is less but more oxygen is inhaled. But in running, which is the form of anaerobic exercise, the body does not use any oxygen but the speed of the running is very high.

Hence in these cases the capacity of the exercise varies as one can cover longer distances in more time and burn more calories, while the person doing anaerobic exercises increases muscles while taking less time. It should be remembered that you should not stretch your exercising potential at one go and it is best to increase the same over a span of time as there are high risks of injuries to the body along with non performance of these exercises for a long time.
