Do Vitamin Supplements Work
We take vitamin supplements for a lot of reasons: it could be in the form of dietary insurance or to keep away diseases, or even to treat a particular condition. Vitamin supplements have their own situate, but they are mere additions to a healthy diet, not replacements for it. Instead of trying to compensate for what we do wrong, we should strive for a balance. Eat a wholesome diet regularly and then put in supplements.
Often for people suffering from acne problem could be advised to take vitamin supplements. But instead of popping a pill all our lives we could always switch to natural vitamin supplements such as citrus fruits which are loaded with vitamins. Our brains' capability to think, our hearts' capacity to pump blood, and our immune systems' ability to fight infections function on a biochemical level. If we interfere with it, the body doesn't work well. All of these bio-chemicals come from our diet only so supplements are really not required.
Many people take vitamin supplements as a nutritional insurance, and that's the best way to take them. That's because it's more reasonable to prevent disease than to treat it. But many people take vitamins to cure diseases, such as coronary heart disease, high blood pressure, arthritis, and even cancer. That's very different from prevention or from advocating a natural diet. Whenever we tend to fall ill we are prescribed vitamin supplements to combat and fight the illness and recover back into good health but these supplements should not become a regular habit.
There's nothing wrong with treating one self with vitamins, assuming we start with an accurate diagnosis, have read enough to know what we are doing, and are aware of the potential pitfalls. People often roll to self-therapy because they have not been cured by the usual medicine, or because they simply don't trust it. People who workout rigorously need high vitamin supplements compared to people who do not workout. Many of us make a mistake of following what others. Often health drinks are great vitamin supplements and are taken by active sportsperson.
Vitamins and minerals are active ingredients in fruits and vegetables. We often tend to forget that foods contain nutrients that haven't yet been discovered or researched, so it's always safe to stick to natural food - fruits and vegetables than make the body used to external supplements.
