Physical therapy has a vital role to play in treating different problems of the joints and the bones along with other related conditions. Basically physical therapy is a direct form of professional patient care and is a mode of rehabilitation for those with physical impediments and illnesses. It has been seen that physical therapy is most often used for stroke patients to relieve them of pain and heal the muscles and joints that are not functioning smoothly.
There are some birth defects and post-operative problems that are also treated by physical therapists. But stroke therapy is the most significant for stroke victims because they suffer physical harms that limit movement and other motor skills. One of the most common forms or side effects of strokes is paralysis, where the patient suffers from partial restriction of movements of certain body parts. This is one of the biggest challenges for physical therapists.
Hence most of the people who need physical therapies are the ones, who lose their physical abilities due to various health problems or accidents. There are various kinds of other treatments like exercises and therapeutic massages that are included in physical therapy and help the patients adapt to physical disabilities. Thus physical therapy is type of treatment that deals with patients who had physical repercussions, and similar medical conditions that debilitate people's motor skills.

These include internal organs and osteoarthritis, which is degenerative joint disease.
Arthritis treatment often includes physical therapy and exercise and through physical therapy one provides aid to arthritis sufferers in many ways. In these cases physical therapy aims to improve functional capacity and reduce pain and fatigue associated with daily activities. These therapies aim to restore function and movement and various kinds of physical techniques and activity modifications are implemented for the same.
Basically the combination of physical therapy and exercise helps to maintain normal joint movement along with strengthening the muscles around the joints and the bones and cartilage tissue. Through physical therapy one can also experience improvement in overall ability to do everyday activities and helps to maintain weight and thus reduce pressure on joints. Through these activities the bone and cartilage tissues remain strong and healthy.
It should be remembered that the implementation of the physical therapy treatments are given depending on the severity of arthritis. Hence there can be instances where a physical therapist may suggest either isometric or isotonic exercises. But the combination of manual physical therapy and exercise has been proven to be more effective to reduce pain and other related problems.
