Why Do People Get Fat?

When talking about the problem of obesity and what comes with it, the most obvious effect is death. There are other harmful effects however, that can hinder a person's physical health and these include; diabetes, stroke, heart disease and even cancer. Along with these serious physical problems, being overweight can also hurt a person mental. It can badly affect their self esteem, cause depression and in some cases cause a person to become solitary.

It is true that if people are overweight, they could be in deep problem. Overweight persons face significant risk of diabetes, heart disease, Stroke, Gallbladder disease, Sleep apnea and respiratory problems and hypertension in comparison to a normal person. Besides all the severe health problems obese people has more chances of feeling depressed due to his/her physical unattractiveness thus a lot of people are interested in weight reduction programs. According to a recent health study about overweight people in United States, it is found that more than 50% of American citizen are overweight. There could be lot of causes for being overweight but some of the major reasons are described below.

The first cause of getting overweight or obese is laziness. If people are a large person and they can honestly say that they get at least a half an hour of aerobic exercise each day, then there is something else that is causing their obesity, but if they are not getting at least that much exercise, then they need to get off their lazy butt and start exercising.

The second cause of obesity problem is the lack of balance between the caloric intake and the energy out put. With all the constant sit down in front of a computer jobs we have to take special time out to exercise more because people are not active with out day to day jobs. This causes of gaining body weight and become lazy.

The third reason for the overweight people is diet soda or pop. Very few people know that the artificial chemical sweeteners in diet soda cause people to crave sweets. Plus what good are people doing when they order a diet soda, then they order a meal that has about 2,000 calories per bite. That is the actual thing about diet soda; it convinces people that they are doing something good when they are not.

The fourth cause of overweight or obesity is eating out and eating fast food. Restaurants make their food stuffs taste delicious with all types of fattening things that are not good for health. Fast foods available in the restaurants are greasy and horrible for the health. Yet there are some types of people that eat every meal from a drive thru or at a restaurant. This is very bad for the health and people need to cut it out.

Reducing body weight is not as difficult as some people say. It is a popular misconception that body weight reduction programs is necessary to loose weight. People can reduce their body weight without going for any expensive weight reduction quick solution programs. Reasons for being obese or overweight may be numerous but the most important aspect about weight reduction is the high morale; if people have the determination and will power them can get rid of the obesity.
