People also need to have a 'Telecoil'; this sends the sounds to the hearing aid guide. It is the ELI that actually examines. The battery wears down rather faster. Because the batteries are rechargeable it does keep costs down. The manufacturers are now trying to resolve this. To see if the cell phone device is 'Bluetooth' compatible, people should look for the logo.

It should be on the pack and another place to look is under 'specifications'. It should also have other important and useful information in the manual. If people want to use an ELI it is very important that their cell phone device is 'Bluetooth' compatible. People need to make sure they check it out before they order one. 'Bluetooth' has been used for several years with different Pac's, Cell phones and PDA's. It has a radius of nearly ten meters and allows devices that have it to exchange information. Lots of people believe this modern technology will be used more and more in the future. The ELI device is very innovative, but if 'Bluetooth' does become more and more widely used the sets should become widely available. In turn, this device will also bring prices down.

Most of the people that have to use hearing aid also need to use a cell phone. Quite often the hearing aid frequencies greatly interfere with the frequency used by cell phones. It is quite common to practice the squealing when trying to use a cell phone with the hearing aid. If the hearing aid is not very severe, then people may be able to hear well enough to take their hearing aid out and use the phone without the hearing aid.
