Bone Diseases - Hormonal Imbalance Causes Many Bone Diseases

Bone disorders are conditions that cause the impairment of normal bone function and can make bones weak. Weak bones should never just be excused as a normall part of aging but it actually may occur due to hormonal imbalance. Strong bones develop in childhood. People of all ages, later on, can develop their bone health. Bone is actually a connective tissue that contains a hardened matrix of mineral salts and collagen fibers. The cells of bone tissue include osteocytes, which are embedded within lacunae, and the free-roaming osteoblasts and osteoclasts.

The most common bone disease occur due to hormonal imbalance is osteoporosis. Osteoporosis is mainly characterized by low bone mass and deterioration of bone structure. Osteoporosis disease can effectively be prevented, as well as diagnosed and treated. Osteoporosis is a very silent disease until a fracture occurs. Four times as many men and nearly three times as many women have this bone disorder than report having this. Low bone mass is actually the bones with less than optimal amounts of calcium and other minerals that make them strong. As a result of fewer amount of bone mass, bones become weak and break, or can fracture more easily. Bone fractures often occur from sudden hard falling or other common accidents. Spine fractures can also occur while doing daily activities or silent hormonal imbalance without any trauma.

Other kind of bone diseases includes Paget's disease and osteogenesis imperfecta. Paget's disease gradually results skeletal deformities and fractures. A healthy skeletal system with strong bone structure is essential to overall physical health and quality of life. Strong bone mass support the body and are the framework for the muscles. Strong bones protect the brain, heart, lungs, and other organs from injury. Weak bones generally result in painful and debilitating fractures. Hip fractures are the most distressing type of bone fracture and account for almost 300,000 hospitalizations each year.

Joint of the frame work of the body is juncture between two bones. Some bone joints are immovable, such as those joints that connect the bones of the skull, which are separated merely by short, tough fibers of cartilage. Movable bone joints are found for the most part in the limbs. Arthritis literally stands for inflammation of one or more joints. Arthritic diseases of such joints include rheumatoid arthritis and psoriatic arthritis, which are autoimmune diseases; septic arthritis, caused by joint infection; and the more common osteoarthritis, or degenerative joint disease. Arthritis can be caused from massive strains and injuries caused by repetitive motion, overexertion, sports, and falls. Arthritic joints can be sensitive to hormonal imbalance and weather changes. The increased sensitivity in the joints is thought to be caused by the affected joints developing extra nerve endings in an attempt to protect the joint from further damage.
