Consequences Of Disability

If people are affected with any one of a number of disabilities they know how hard it can make their life. People need to learn about a couple of basic disabilities and ways to help live with them. First off people should know that disabilities can come naturally or unnaturally. People can be born with them or have them pop up at an older age. This means all of us should be prepared for them no matter how good we think our health is.

Being blind affects the life of many people throughout the world. This disability is when people cannot see out of their eyes. It is possible though to be legally blind and still be able to see a little. However, usually it is so little as to make little difference. By being blind will limit a lot with the life. People will not be able to see or do many of the things they love. However, using brail they can still read and enjoy a good book. Also, a lot of blind people learn to use their hearing to a very efficient level.

Being deaf is a very awful disability. However, this kind of disability has fewer consequences than some of the others. While people may not be able to hear they can still communicate with other people via sign language or some speech if they can learn to read lips. There are lots of deaf people around the world who do very well for themselves in life. The next big disability is being mute, this is where people cannot talk and can not make speaking sounds. This is one of the easier disabilities to overcome because people do not need to speak to communicate.

Disabilities can also include genetic disorders, amputated or lack of limbs, and many other things which cause a person not to be able to lead a normal life. When everything is said and done there is no painless way to live with a disability. There are plenty of ways to make it easier on a person with a disability but sadly, there is no real or existent solution.

Social Security Disability or SSD is a division of the Federal Social Security Act. SSD encompasses several programs that provide monthly disability payments and other benefits to disabled workers and their families. SSD benefits may consist of medical coverage and cash payments.

Filing a SSD benefits claim can be a great process. If people are unsure of who is eligible for SSD benefits, what the claims process involves, or what to do if their claim is denied, they should search for their answers to the concerning authority. To receive SSD benefits, a disabled person must meet a variety of criteria. The first set of criteria concerns the medical condition of the person or applicant. The person who is applying for SSD benefits must have a medically determinable impairment. This means that the applicant must have a mental or physical impairment or disability that can be medically diagnosed and established by evidence consisting of signs, symptoms, and laboratory findings. Additionally, this disability must have lasted, or be expected to last, at least one year or be expected to result in death. Finally, the disability must result in the inability to work.
