Discovery Dental Centre is the new habitat for Dr. Jeff Hughe's dental practice. It came about as an outcome of his desire to create an all-inclusive family oriented practice that combines the latest technological advances in dentistry with his gentle and caring manner.

Orthodontic treatment has come a long way in the fresh years with computer aided diagnosis and appliance design, painless tooth movements and shorter treatment times. Most orthodontic treatments can be achieved in as little as twelve to even twenty four months. These improvements can last for a lifetime.

The simplest way of achieving a radiant smile is to whiten one's teeth. This can easily be achieved by applying a risk-free gel to the teeth for a period of two weeks in the comfort of your own home. The replacement of the missing teeth has altered drastically over the last ten years. For those individuals who constantly suffer from less than their full compliment of teeth, technology has provided the ideal replacement which will be beneficial to them all. Implants are small cylinders of specially coated titanium which serves as replacements for the missing tooth roots. The implants serve as a foundation on which to put the replacement teeth. Any number of teeth can be replaced by these implants, and implants can also be used to secure loose partial and complete dentures.

This CAD/CAM technology provides for the manufacture of crowns or caps while the patient waits, thus eliminating a second appointment and having to be anesthetized a second time. With the advent of bonding technology, we can now invigorate discolored, malformed, or even misaligned teeth by placing thin veneers of porcelain directly over them. These thin layers of porcelain are known to be extremely strong and very esthetic.

The most common type of treatment that we do is actually the placement of white or composite fillings. These are quite economical, esthetic restorations that have ushered out the use of silver amalgam filling material. Hi tech digital radiography means almost 90% less radiation contact when compared to the traditional x-rays. Although radiation from dental x-rays has always known to be extremely low, new technology allows us to lower that exposure level a lot more. In addition digital radiographs can be a lot more diagnostic than their preceding counterparts. This means earlier detection of the problems and more conventional treatments.
