The clinical nurses for critical care is just another term used for registered nurses who are specialists in critical care and they have worked in actual clinic settings. There are a large number of health clinics that specialize in critical care and they require trained nurses in this area to take care of the critical unit patients. These nurses can also become clinical nurse advisors or clinical lead managers due to their high profile specialization.

These nurses also have large responsibilities as the patients who are in critical care need special treatment. Usually these patients are suffering from some kinds of serious illness or have had a major accident and their life is at a very big risk. If the nurse is not qualified to handle situations of emergencies then the life of the patient is also at very high risk. Hence these responsibilities of clinical nurses mainly revolve around clinical practice, but also include presence of mind, which would be crucial in saving the life of the patient.

Apart from these clinical nurses also conduct researches, and handle consultations and management responsibilities. There is a growing need for these specialist nurses due to the rise of critical care units in the country and doctors suggesting this care for patients to avoid any complications. The critical care nurses help to treat patients who are suffering from various kinds of ailments or other emergency crisis. The clinical nurses require additional qualifications to become critical care nurses as they have more responsibilities as compared to regular nurses.
