Through this exercise muscle growth on both the legs and the upper body occurs and hence you can get the dual benefit of working out on two muscle groups at the same time. This also helps in saving time and energy and you can workout on more muscle groups in lesser time.
There are not too many complex gadgets required for working out on the muscle groups of the body. You just need a pair of light weight dumbbells, which should be raised above the head without arching the back and the feet should be slightly apart and as the lunges are done the dumbbells should be lifted to the ears. When making the lunge your legs should be at 90 degrees and the back of the leg should be just above the floor. Keep the spine should be straight while doing this workout and the exercise should be repeated on both legs.
Arms can also be toned through swimming because the muscles of the arms, legs, back and the stomach are trained at one time through this exercise. Also there are lesser risks of injuries because the exercises are being done in water. You can train the different muscle groups easily through various kinds of exercises.
