Foods That Cause Asthma
If people are suffering from asthma, chances are they have tried a whole host of natural cures. Most of these asthma remedies have probably been in the form of some type of modern medicines or drugs that the doctor has prescribed for an individual. However, there are several asthma natural cures that maybe people have not tried. These asthma cures include adjusting the daily diet and practicing a breathing technique.
Very few people know that what they eat or do not eat could have positive or negative effects on their asthma. There are some foods that people might be allergic to that could trigger an asthma attack and then there are some foods that are just naturally bad for their asthma because they make them more susceptible to an asthma attack. However, there are also some foods that are good for asthma patients and will help them to stop their asthma or lessen an asthma attack. Most of these asthma cure foods contain minerals that act as anti-histamines. Anti-histamine substances help to stop swelling in the body. This includes swelling of the bronchial tubes or air passage, which is what, happens during an asthma attack.
There are various allergies that the asthma triggers what people need to discover the asthma trigger foods, the asthma trigger food additives and how stop asthma being triggered by food allergies. In general, it is not believed that asthma attack can be caused by food allergies but it is though that a food allergy can trigger asthma symptoms. Now, there is not a list of hard and fast foods which cause asthma symptoms but the following list of normal foods are commonly known to make asthma symptoms in some people worst like, Cow's Milk, Wheat, Cereals, Yeast, Moulds containing foods such as blue cheese, Nuts, Fish and Eggs.
Now some asthma patients not only can have a problem with asthma trigger foods but they may also have a problem with what the food manufactures put into their foods or food additives. There are several food additives that may trigger the asthma attack like, Sulphites, Tartrazine, Sodium Benzoate and Salicylates. Most of the regular foods that are bad for asthma sufferers are bad because they have some type of allergy to those foods. Maybe the foods cause their bronchial tubes to swell, maybe it produces extra mucus, or maybe it has some other effect that triggers an asthma attack.
Unfortunately what these foods cause a negative reaction is usually unique to the individual situation. Therefore, people have to figure out which foods might be causing their asthma attacks. The best way to begin to figure these foods out is to keeping a food diary of everything people eat and then to also keeping a diary of when they feel good and when they do not. Then they can compare the two and see if any foods jump out at them. As for healthy foods, these are foods that are high in magnesium content or in antioxidants. Some of the foods that are high in magnesium include legumes, fish, and pumpkin seeds whereas foods that are high in antioxidants include spinach, dark green leafy vegetables, and apricots. Over the past several years, asthmatics patients have found that they can dramatically improve their asthma by learning how to breathe correctly. People also learn to control their asthma attacks by breathing through them.
