This had been seen in primates and rodents, who had been given a diet, which was at 30% less in daily calories.
It was seen that they lived longer and were resistant to many age-related problems even though this calorie restriction is not yet proven in humans. It had also been seen that these animals lived longer and the actual life span for the species had also increased by 30%. Similarly the anti-aging properties of red wine can work in the same mechanism as calorie restriction to help in delaying your anti aging process.
It had been seen that some middle-aged mice were given low doses of resvertrol, which were lower than in prior studies. But these mice still showed solid anti aging benefits and thus the idea of giving both calorie restriction and resveratrol supplementation was created, which would change the activity of certain genes in your body. Hence these changes result in less age-related problems help in reducing the tissue changes due to aging.
One of the most important benefits seen here had been the slowing of aging of the heart. At present it has been seen that red wine anti-aging benefits have been recognized for quite some time. But the anti-aging benefit does not mean that you should consume huge quantities of red wine but this should be consumed in moderation. It is suggested that 1 glass of wine per day provides you with the antioxidants and flavonoids required for giving anti-aging benefits to the body.
It has been seen that antioxidants have long been recognized as the healthy way to fight free radical damage in the body but if these are left unchecked, then they can cause a plethora of illnesses and disease. The free radicals are present in every human due to environmental ills but the anti-aging benefits of red wine focus on the rich antioxidant compounds present in the wine.
Red wine has antioxidants that surround the free radicals and prevent them from doing further damage to the cells. These antioxidants also stop the production of new free radicals from existing damaged cells. Once these free radicals are shut down, then the red wine focuses on improving the cell function and repairing the damage caused to the cells and tissues.
