Butt Acne - Med Help About Embarrassing Butt Acne

We often find acne developing in different parts of the body such as the face, neck, and back areas, but many of us are still unaware of, or embarrassed about acne that suddenly makes its appearance on the butt. This is called bottom or butt acne and what may be surprising to many is that it develops in an area that is not exposed to dirt and pollution. Butt acne is often embarrassing, particularly those having spouses or intimate partners. Young people too find butt acne hugely embarrassing. However, there are several ways in which butt acne can be treated.

Butt acne is more common in men than women as they generally have more hair in that region and sweat more also. It can be caused by several factors, ranging from ingrown hairs to infected hair follicles. However, the most common causes of butt acne are sweat and bacteria on the skin that lead to both sebum blockage and inflammation. In many cases, the treatments that work for facial acne are not as effective in treating butt acne. In addition, facial acne treatments in most cases are only designed to be used on quite small surface areas such as spots around the face and not on relatively larger areas in the buttock. In butt acne, skin pores often become clogged and the acne-causing bacteria multiply and form pimples.

An effective way to treat butt acne is to ensure that the area remains clean and dry, but well moisturized at the same time. In case your skin is subjected to over washing, the skin can dry it out and become vulnerable to more inflammation which, in turn, causes more break outs. For the treatment of buttock pimples, you should at least use a good anti bacterial soap and a slightly acidic moisturizer.

At present, some companies are busy developing treatments specifically aimed at treating such buttock pimples. While choosing a treatment, you should make sure that the product you are going to purchase has both anti bacterial and anti inflammatory properties as these are the main causes of pimples on the buttocks and other such areas. The best treatment option will certainly include an antibacterial wash, containing an anti inflammatory agent such as salicylic acid, and a good non-pore clogging acidic moisturizer having anti bacterial properties that will keep the skin moist but prevent blockages.

As a preventive measure against butt acne, exfoliating the buttocks area is a good idea because it sheds dead skin cells. Acne victims can do this by frequently using an exfoliating cloth when taking a bath to reveal the healthier, clearer layer of the skin.

Butt acne suffers should also try to stay away from scented products because these may do more harm than good on the already infected skin. It is better to talk to a dermatologist about the soaps or other products such as creams or gels that they can use to treat buttock pimples.

Butt acne patients should be careful to find out if the detergent soap they use when washing the underwear garments is safe for the skin or not. As regards the materials with which the underwear is made, cotton is the safest and most helpful as this can help in absorbing sweat. Any underwear made from synthetic fibers is, on the other hand, harmful for the sensitive skin on the butt.
